To say that David Simzer is partial
to the St. Lawrence College, Cornwall campus is certain. I
graduated from the College. My wife graduated from the College.
My son, my daughter and her husband all graduated from here as well.
We realized quickly that the Simzer household must know a good thing
when they see it. Dave goes on to explain that the technology programs
at St. Lawrence College have grown big time. In addition
he comments that The people I work with are quite good and
very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. Proving one
more time that the people working for St. Lawrence College, Cornwall
impact not only the students, but fellow staff as well.
Dave describes himself as a
very competitive person. This must come in handy not only
in his career, but with his interest in golf, skiing and other sports.
He also finds time to play guitar, balancing out his hectic five
day schedule.
Dave came to St. Lawrence College
and graduated from a three year program in Electronics Engineering.
Soon after completing, he went to work for a company named Comterm
in Montreal. This company provided excellent training in the high
tech field. The work involved hardware design for micro processor
based products. Deciding to move onto something different, Dave
started in research and development at DGI Instruments in Kanata,
doing design work and software development. Some of the work involved
designing simulators for the training of air traffic controllers.
Because of much influence from a past professor, Dave started to
teach. Im still having fun today! This positive
outlook is for certain what keeps his students interested in learning.
